Position Summary:

Software System Architect
Designs, defines, architects and develops system enhancements and new products for connected enterprise solutions based on cloud technology.  Develops prototypes and proof-of-concept for future cloud technologies using modern Cloud & Internet of Things tools and other methodologies.  Serves as a senior development team member handling stories which includes functional requirement gathering, design and implementation, update or author the documentation to support changes in requirements and related modules or subsystems.  Takes the lead on designing software architecture that aligns with customer demands and guides other team members.  Provides and verifies estimates for the design.  Considers tradeoffs between requirements, speed, cost and reliability in the choice of a design approach.  Works as a Senior Cloud Professional with in-depth of knowledge of Azure services, including cloud services, web sites, VMs, VNets, Storage, Azure SQL, web jobs, IoT hubs, Power BI, and Service Fabric.   Researches next generation technologies like Docker, Microsoft Service Fabric, SQL Data Warehouse, Cassandra clusters and others and creates prototypes, gains quick expertise into new unknown areas, and leads the team towards concrete development plans.  Uses breadth of knowledge of technologies like C, C#, .NET Framework, .Net 1.0, Java, Angular JS, Node.JS, Apache products and a variety of next-generation Azure services.  Participates in group discussions, brain storming sessions, and Hackathons with vendors like Microsoft, Cisco and others.  Takes an active part in customer meetings and seminars and brings new ideas and research results to the table.  Works in distributed team environments and creates formal networks with key decision makers and serves as external spokesperson for the development team.  Applies in-depth knowledge about in-house Rockwell FactoryTalk product line as well as Toolkits like MFT, InfoPlatform and others.  Utilizes familiarity with Rockwell hardware products, including but not limited to Controllers (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, PLCs) and PowerFlex Drives.


Minimum Qualifications:
Required: Master's degree in Computer and Information Science or Computer Engineering, and three (3) years of experience as a Cloud Services or Software Engineer.  In lieu of a Master's degree and three years of experience, the employer would accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer and Information Science or Computer Engineering, and five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience as a Cloud Services or Software Engineer.  As part of the experience being required, applicants must have had: experience in developing system enhancements and new products for connected enterprise solutions based on cloud technology using the latest Microsoft Azure technologies, including cloud services, web sites, VMs, VNets, Storage, Azure SQL, web jobs, IoT hubs, Power BI, Service Fabric, and Services Infrastructure; experience in programming languages, including C, C#, Java, .Net Framework, and .Net 1.0; experience in Web Technologies, including JavaScript, NodeJS, AngularJS, XML, HTML, JQuery UI and JSON; experience in next generation technologies, including SQL Data Warehouse, Docker and Cassandra clusters; experience with object-oriented analysis and design, including the use of Design Patterns and programming techniques; experience in designing, developing, testing and implementing high performance software products; experience in Agile methodologies, including SCRUM and Test Driven Development; experience working with Linux Operating systems; experience working with industrial programmable automation controllers, Human Machine Interface programming, and Netbiter; experience with the development of lifecycle tools for configuration management, including (ClearCase), source monitor (Code complexity), static analysis (Coverity), and code reviews (code collaborator); experience in Api testing, Unit testing, Integration testing, End to End testing, Regression testing and Functional testing; and experience in version control software and tools, including GitLab, Github, and Subversion.
