Job Summary Ind1

You will work in an Exploratory Team focusing on the new technology and next generation of coatings products. Exploratory Team members will complement each other in their disciplines and their approaches to innovative products. The position requires a high degree of analysis, innovation and creative problem solving. Projects assigned will be challenging, complex and demanding in nature

  • Work with cross-disciplinary teams to develop new technology and materials for coatings applications,
  • Research, identify, explore and prove feasibility of novel technology in coatings application
  • Conduct applied and fundamental research on the relationship of property/performance of coatings products to their formulation, provide findings to product development teams,
  • Must be outwardly focused to capture and apply new technology developments from research institutions and industries,
  • Formulate and test coatings products
  • Transfer new technology to Product Development Labs for optimization and commercialization,
  • Manage and train junior chemists

Required skills and experience

  • Advanced degree, Ph.D. preferred, in physical chemistry, material science, or related fields
  • Highly motivated and a self-starter,
  • Hands-on experiences in one or more of these fields: coatings formulation, pigments dispersions, rheology, polymer structure-property relationship, surface characterization, design of experiment tools
  • Industrial experience is a plus
  • Strong organization skills, detail oriented and highly organized
  • Must possess outstanding communication (written and verbal) skills
