Responsible for the technical integrity of system design from the concept phase through detailed design, testing and site installation, including commissioning and system handover at both onshore and offshore sites. Lead the design and manufacture of process safety and process control systems, including Software and Hardware design, network architecture design and PID calculations. Applies detailed knowledge of AADvance, Guardlogix safety, ControlLogix PLC systems and safety products, as well as comprehensive knowledge of ISA.84 standards from the International Society of Automation and an understanding of a formal quality management system based on IEC61508 and IEC61511. Interfaces with client engineers relating to technical specifications and provides guidance and mentoring to subordinate staff. Executes Technical Authority review authorization for project design and validation documents within approved areas of competence. Additional duties. Travel required: 20% domestic and offshore rigs.

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering Technology, and seven (7) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience as an Engineer-Oil & Gas Industry. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree and seven years of experience, the employer will accept a Master's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering Technology, and five (5) years of experience as an Engineer-Oil & Gas Industry. As part of the experience being required, applicants must have had: experience in designing, developing, commissioning and supporting Process Control and Safety Systems, including Blow Out Prevention Systems, High Integrity Pressure Protection Systems, Process Safety, Emergency Shutdown, Fire & Gas, Firewater Control, HVAC, Gas Compressor and Turbine Control for Oil and Gas (onshore / offshore) customer applications, primarily for Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO), Semi-Submersible rigs and onshore gas terminals; experience with specification development, architectural design, software development, function block library development, hardware development, and system testing (FAT and SAT), relative to Process Control and Safety Systems for Oil and Gas (onshore / offshore) applications; experience with networking and industry standard communications protocols, including Modbus, EthernetIP, Genius Bus Communications, CIP (Common Industrial Protocols) and SNCP (Safety Network Control Protocol) development relative to Process Control and Safety Systems for Oil and Gas (onshore / offshore) applications; experience configuring, developing and fault finding electrical / PLC Control systems, including GE Fanuc GMR, 90-70, 90-30, Versamax and RX3I, Siemens S5 and S7, Mitsubishi MELSEC Q-Series, ICS Triplex Trusted and Regent, Rockwell Automation PLC-5, SLC-500, ControlLogix and AADvance for Oil and Gas (onshore / offshore) applications primarily for Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO), Semi-Submersible rigs and onshore gas terminals; experience configuring, developing and faultfinding HMI/DCS systems, including Emerson Delta V, GE Cimplicity, Fisher Rosemount Provox, Rockwell Automation RSView and FactoryTalk View relative to Process Control and Safety Systems for Oil and Gas (onshore / offshore) applications primarily for Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO), Semi-Submersible rigs and onshore gas terminals; experience working with various software tools used in Oil and Gas applications, including GE Fanuc (LM90, Versa Pro & Machine Edition, Cimplicity Unix and PE), Emerson (Delta V and Fisher Rosemount Provox), Allen-Bradley (RSLogix, RSLogix5000), Mitsubishi programming tools (GX Developer) and ICSTriplex programming tools (Winterpret, IEC1331 Toolset, AADvance Workbench) and Siemens (Step5 and Step7); experience with interpretation of client specification documents, including System Architecture drawings, Control Narratives, P&ID diagrams, Sequence diagrams, Cause and Effects charts, SIL analysis documents, electrical assembly drawings and mechanical assembly drawings; and experience in reviewing and preparing engineering documents, including functional design specifications, software and hardware design specifications, function block design specifications, communication interface and data specifications, sequence logic charts and logic diagrams, Factory Acceptance and Site Acceptance Test procedures, commissioning procedures, software installation procedures and Installation and Operation Manuals.
