Network & Security Commercial Project Engineer
Network & Security Project Engineer focuses heavily on Rockwell Automation and Cisco Network & Security products and technologies as applied to our Manufacturing/IT Converged Plant-wide Ethernet initiative and Security Framework.
The desired candidate must be able to provide customer recommendations in design and deployment of the network and security systems. Must have proven technical expertise in LAN/WAN design and implementation, routing and switching, security zone and DMZ implementation, firewall and IDS/IPS configuration. Must have excellent understanding of TCP/IP and routing protocols as well as be able to provide a technical expertise and commercial awareness of Cisco products (Layer 2, Layer 3 switches and routers, firewalls, etc.) and the industrial automation marketplace in which they are applied. Ability to conduct researches and provide information and security related solutions.
This position will also be responsible for:
Supporting the joint Rockwell Automation / Cisco initiative to develop set of Reference Architectures integrating manufacturing and enterprise networks, with focus on security design and implementation.
Providing pre-sales support to include proof of concept and system architecture review / recommendations, customer visits, and the creation of application notes and white papers.
Periodically, post-sales support will also be required for escalated customer cases. The Sr. Network and Security is an expert in assigned groups of security products/technologies and the applications of those products/technologies.
Maintaining a superior knowledge of the security capabilities of operating systems, networking devices, control systems, and vendor offerings.
Maintaining a working knowledge of security standards, including those related to industrial automation and critical infrastructure.
Maintaining and developing a technical expertise and commercial awareness of RA products and the industrial automation marketplace in which they are applied.
Experience in network and system analysis.
Knowledge of how to use electronic test equipment and software to solve systems and product problems.
Developing presentations and demonstrations for use at tradeshows, sales offices, or corporate facilities.
Developing, documenting, reviewing and publishing product and system oriented application notes to enhance the sale of Rockwell Automation products.
Reviewing and providing feedback on market requirements documents (MRDs), and development specifications.
Evaluating and supporting pre-release and Beta site hardware and software products.
Reviewing and providing feedback on content and accuracy of RA product and promotional publications.
Ability to perform product/system troubleshooting over the phone and on-site.
Travel requirement approximately 10-15% (domestic and international).

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Information Technology
- Certifications in Cisco Routing and switching (i.e. CCNA, IMINS) and 5 years Cisco experience.
- Minimum 8 years overall experience with 2+ years in one or more of the following areas:
- Ethernet network infrastructure design.
- Ethernet network security design.
- Ethernet remote access design.
- Working knowledge of Rockwell Automation core products (i.e. PLCs, Motion, Operator Interface, and I/O, with emphasis on Ethernet networking applications and Ethernet infrastructure products).
- Experience / Education / Certification working with Cisco products and technologies.
