It's an opportunity to do your life's best work.Primary Responsibilities: Register patients, obtain demographics and verify insurance information and code them in a timely manner, and explain conditions of admission to patient and obtain their signatures Explains the payment and billing assistance program to all patients regardless of financial concerns or limitations Collects co-payments, deductibles and patient's financial responsibility Properly handles credit card and cash transactions in accordance with PCI-DSS standards and guidelines Understands and follows the Cashier Policy and Procedures Follow rules and regulations as well as the policy of the organization Appropriate patient identification Collecting accurate and thorough patient demographic data Obtaining insurance information and verifying eligibility and benefits Determining and collecting patient financial liability, and referring patients to the patient registration specialist as needed for assistance with financial counseling and / or clearance


Required Qualifications: High School Diploma / GED (or higher) 1+ years of experience working in a hospital patient registration department, physician office setting, healthcare insurance company, revenue cycle vendor, and / or other revenue cycle related roles 1+ years of experience performing basic mathematics for payment calculationFluent in English (read, write and speak fluently in order to communicate with patients and other team members) Ability to navigate a PC and utilize Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook) in a professional setting to create, copy, edit, send, and save documents Flexible schedule as this is an on-call position - hours include day, evening and overnight shifts as well as weekendsPreferred Qualifications: 1+ years of experience in requesting and processing financial payments Knowledge of charity care programs as well as the various government and non-government programs offered Understanding of insurance policies and procedures Bilingual with English and Spanish or Armenian Careers with OptumInsight.
