the Family Advocate I (Bilingual) provides direct services, helping families to access resources, ensuring that children receive appropriate early education experiences and collecting data. The position is responsible for recruitment of Spanish-speaking participants, acts as a liaison to the Spanish-speaking community organizations, and offers classes in both English and Spanish.

Responsible for participant recruitment in the Spanish speaking communities.
Serves as a liaison between Spanish speaking organizations and EHS.
Offers EHS services to qualifying Spanish speaking participants.
Plans and teaches ESL classes to qualifying participants as required.
Facilitates and/or teaches/translates center classes/support groups
With the participant, develops, monitors, and revises Family Partnership Agreements per policy.
Completes application and enrollment with participant, including Strengths and Needs Assessments with the family.
Conducts child development activity weekly using the IEP and the appropriate tools and suggestions of the Child Development Coordinator and/or Child Development Teacher.
Uses the P.A.T. curriculum to teach parenting skills in the home and models appropriate parenting behaviors.
Assists participants in accessing and using resources and activities to address family service goals with emphasis on self-sufficiency.
Offers supportive counseling assistance.
Keeps participant families' records and documentation current and complete, including child and family progress on goals.
Collaborates with EHS Center staff to ensure continuity of service.
Attends and actively participates in all staff meetings and trainings as required and facilitates support groups.



Bachelors degree, and/or
Child Development Associate for Home Visitors

Three years' experience working with families and children.
Experience working with Spanish speaking populations
Experience with home visiting
