Position Summary:
The Associate Strategic Agreements Manager will act as a business partner to sales and senior management by providing leadership, guidance, and innovation in the contracting, negotiation, management of Multi-Site Strategic Customer Agreements and day to day negotiations for an assigned territory with customers having local, regional and global scope. The Associate Strategic Agreements Manager will lead the negotiation planning, pricing strategy, and authorization processes in a disciplined manner within a common set of global tools and processes within Rockwell Automation policies and procedures. Establishes strategic objectives and goals. Involved in developing, modifying and executing Local Pricing Agreements and Strategic Multi-Site Customer Agreements within company policies that affect company profitability globally.

Key Functions

  • Establishes contract and pricing strategies through collaboration with Distributors, Sales, Product Management and Sr. Level Executives to enhance the value of existing and new commercial relationships within a defined set of standard tools and processes.
  • Maintains world-class level of pricing competency through continuous learning and development.  Pursues certification as a Certified Pricing Professional.
  • Negotiates and interacts directly with key stakeholders to communicate and document RA's differential value and price position in order to help establish standardization and maintain relationships with strategic customers.

  • Ability to prioritize and work under tight deadlines; attention to detail and being a results-oriented provider of value-added service to support the businesses' contracting needs globally. Emphasis is on being proactive, showing initiative, drive and a sense of urgency in completing contracts on time.
  • Flexibility and resiliency, including the ability to adapt to changing/uncertain, ambiguous and contentious conditions within the negotiation process.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced, complex team environment.
  • Takes initiative to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments. Regularly directs the activities of others.
  • Regularly interacts with company senior management and customer executive levels to gain cooperation of others and present complex financial information and project activities. Requires the ability to change the thinking of or gain acceptance from others in sensitive situations, without damage to the relationship. Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
  • Works on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles. Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Working knowledge of Rockwell Automation's Distribution channel, market and customer dynamics within industrial automation industry.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience in direct high level customer contract and pricing negotiations, contract management, terms and conditions administration and an understanding of various negotiation techniques and tools.

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Business, Economics or Finance required
  • MBA is desired.
  • SAP System use experience is desired
  • Project Management and Sales experience is desired.
  • Professional Pricing Society Certification is desired
  • 3 years in industrial automation industry is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines is required.
