Job Description:

Un-like most trucking companies, Penske offers a Career!  We have un-beatable benefits and career paths for every position!  We have a long term contract with this customer and are looking for professional drivers with a dedication to safe, professional and timely deliveries.

Route/Activity - Our drivers are responsible for delivering product to customers.  Most routes are 8-12 stops within 200 mile radius of home terminal; route deliveries of healthcare supplies to hospitals and medical centers. Many deliveries require driver operation of powered pallet jack and trailer lift gate; training provided.

Shift - 40 to 45 hours, Monday thru Friday work week. Start times vary, with most shifts starting from 2pm-5am; some night shifts. 

Equipment - 40', 45', 48' & 53' dry van trailers, some with lift gate. 

Compensation - Starting rate $18.19/hour; overtime after 40 hours. Up to $19.56 after successful 6 months, then $21.26/hour after successful 12 months; then subsequent yearly step increases. Current tenured drivers make $58-60,000 per year. Plus $1,500 Sign On Bonus!

Responsibilities:

-Loading, unloading, or assisting in loading and unloading truck.

-Safe and reliable operation of assigned equipment.

-Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines.

-Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage before and after route.

-Primary interface with the customer at point of delivery.

-Safe, Professional, On-Time and Efficient operations for our customer.



Requirements

Job Qualifications:

-At least 23 years of age

-CDL Class A license required

-2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience in the last 5 years

-3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations/accidents

-Reliable and customer oriented

-Safety oriented

-Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

-Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.

-While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit.  The associate is frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms. The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs/45kg.

-The associate must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle and safely and frequently enter/exit the vehicle as well as the rear cargo area.
