Description

**1st and 3rd shift needed**

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION
This position is responsible to operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks, into railroad trucks or storage facilities. Also, they will be responsible to suggest ways for continual improvement, maintain clean and orderly work area, report forklift equipment malfunctions, personal injuries and unsafe conditions.

Essential Functions (Fundamental duties necessary to achieve the objective of the position)
Obtains copy of production schedule or shipping order and transports material or equipment to and from designated areas in the facility
Loading and unloading goods from vehicles such as trucks or aircraft
Moving goods packed on pallets or in crates around the storage facility
Stacking goods in the correct storage bays, following inventory control instructions
Checking loads are secure
Stacking empty pallets
Performing daily equipment checks such as recharging the truck's battery and lubricating equipment
Removing machine attachments and waste material from machines
Examining products to verify conformance to quality standards
Dumping materials into machine hoppers


Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Experience, education, certifications, general knowledge, skills and abilities.)
Education: High school graduate

Years of Related Experience:
3+ Manufacturing/Distribution experience in a distribution center
Specific Requirements of the Position (Knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the functions)
Good math, language and reading skills; basic computer skills may be required
High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment
Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records
Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner
Maintain a clean & safe environment
May be required to use RF scanner gun
Clean driving record and a valid state motor vehicle operator's license may be required
Forklift certification per OSHA standards

Physical/Working Requirements
Works in distribution environment, exposure to noise and dust
Must be able to lift 50 regularly
While performing duties on the job, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk and use of hands, uncontrolled climate changes hot in the summer and cold in the winter.

Mental Requirements
Basic understanding of distribution operations and warehousing management systems

Good reading and comprehension skills to rad orders, RF guns, shipping documents etc.
