The Technician supports engineering activities such as CAD design and mechanical layouts, test, and modifying applications to Drives, PLCs and monitoring systems. Assists with determining the hardware configuration used on the project. Reviews system specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software. Creates and modifies detailed drawings using CAD hardware and software from sketches, layouts or notes provided by customers or engineering. Contributes design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Checks drawings versus the project input for correctness and conformance to standards. Works with engineering regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and ECN/ECR documentation as required.
Individual responsible for Bill of Material creation and panel layouts for system hardware. Also responsible for finalizing system schematics, assignment of wire numbers, selection of wire type/gauge.
o Responsible for supporting engineering in the design of control, drives and automation systems working in a project team environment.
o Performs detailed hardware layouts and creates manufacturing release packages.
o Provides updates to project manager/leader pertaining to status of activities.
o Performance to schedule and performance to budget for self and other less-experienced engineers
o May participate in project meetings, production handover, and continuous improvement projects
o Oversees the completion of work packages completed by other technicians or the GEC and responsible to review and confirm accuracy through internal audits.
o Acts as the mediator between the lead engineer and the manufacturing, and communicates any project issues to the project managers.
o Determine which hardware's configuration will be used in the project, sending it to the client for its approval beforehand
o Creates the Engineering Change Notices, mitigating issues that will be performed in the hardware equipment used on the project
o Coordinates with other departments as necessary to satisfy project requirements.
o Interface with Engineering and Assembly/Test activities within the facility and remotely.
o Supports an environment conducive to successful team interaction.
o May lead contractors on project assignments.
o Responsible for meeting project schedule, engineering hour's budget, and customer satisfaction targets
o Must be commercially aware of the impact to the business performing the technician function to the benefit of the company and customers.

- At least a Technical or Associates degree in Engineering or Technology.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in electrical design, with emphasis in schematics and panel layout generation
- At least 2 years' experience using AutoCAD to design.

- Must be able to work in a project driven environment where constructive feedback from others is encouraged.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with Rockwell Automation/Allen Bradley products- specifically drives/PLCs/etc.
- Must be available and willing to work overtime in order to meet customer project commitments.
- Must perform duties in the office as part of a project team.
