Description

Contact district businesses, assess needs for training and education; offer best fit solution from College of DuPage and achieve maximum net revenue for College.


  • Create professional development trainings, programs and services for both employers and employees to meet regional skill and knowledge needs and manage program portfolio with annual revenue and enrollment goals.
  • Conduct on-going assessment of need for training and education by in-district businesses. Work cooperatively with College of DuPage (COD) Planning and Institutional Effectiveness, Center for Entrepreneurship, Business and Technology and Workforce Development partners across campus and throughout the community to develop effective instruments to assess needs. Meet with in-district businesses to gather data to assess needs.
  • Meet and negotiate with in-district businesses to determine best-fit solution (product) from COD to meet business needs. Sell products to businesses.
  • Meet with College credit departments (Deans) to develop and customize credit offerings to meet needs of businesses.
  • Meet with the Sr. Program Manager of Business Solutions to develop and customize non-credit offerings to meet the needs of businesses.
  • Assess quality of products delivered. Work cooperatively with COD Planning and Institutional Effectiveness to develop effective instruments and strategies to assess effectiveness and quality of products delivered to businesses. Make adjustments in delivery strategies to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain and update contact databases on an ongoing basis.
  • Maintain and update activity tracking database on an ongoing basis.
  • Participate and assist with strategic, annual and monthly planning.
  • Create trainings, programs and services for both employers and employees to meet regional skill and knowledge needs.
  • Represent Business Solutions and COD as an attendee or presenter at special events, networking opportunities (i.e., chamber events, career fairs, etc.).
  • Research, apply for and carryout grants in conjunction with Continuing Education/Extended Learning leadership team and COD Development and Grants Office relevant to Business Solutions programs, services, customers and business partners.
  • Work with Sr. Program Manager of Business Solutions, Associate Dean and Dean to create and implement marketing plan for Business Solutions.
  • Other related duties as assigned.



Requirements

REQUIRED

EXPERIENCE:

Three to five (3-5) years successful full-time sales, program management or sales management experience.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing, management or related field.

PREFERRED

EXPERIENCE:

More than five (5) years' successful full-time sales or sales management experience.

EDUCATION:

Master's Degree in business, marketing, management or related field.


Personal computer, MS Office, calculator, multi-line telephone, FAX, copy machine, etc.

Forty (40) hours per week with flexibility to adjust to job requirements. Some weekend, evening and early morning work will be required to meet with businesses and observe on-site instruction. Frequent local travel using own vehicle required. General office environment, however, work at district businesses may be factory and plant environment. This position must generate positive net revenue every year.

This position requires a background check and drug screen.
