EDUCATION DEVELOPER

Blick Art Materials, the nation’s leading provider of art supplies
and a certified Great Place to Work, is seeking qualified
candidates for a full-time Education Developer.
OVERALL PURPOSE AND MAIN OBJECTIVES:
• Conceptualize, design and write art education lesson plans to
effectively incorporate National Core Arts Standards for grades K–12
with original or adaptive content
• Create original artwork pieces as display examples of lesson plans
• Conduct lesson plan project-making workshops at art educator
conferences
• Represent Blick Art Materials as an exhibitor at art education and
other trade shows
• Conduct video demonstrations of lesson plans
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Experiment with art products and processes to design new lesson
plans using materials and/or techniques not readily found in research
• Create multiple artwork samples of lesson plan projects for display
and photography
• Compose concise and clear written lesson plan instructions for
catalog and web use
• Plan and communicate workshop supply requirements
• Prepare scripts and artwork examples for video recordings of
lesson plans
• Other related duties as assigned
SKILLS:
• Familiarity and understanding of National Core Arts Standards for
Visual Arts
• Understanding of and successful application of artistic principles
and elements of design
• Detailed knowledge of and proficiency with use of a wide variety of
art materials
• Highly effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Effective instruction and presentation skills with adult audiences
• PC skills, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook
EDUCATION:
• Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or Studio Arts
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Ability to independently travel via car and airplane
• Ability to lift 40-lbs and physically setup exhibit displays
• Office and project studio space
• Convention and conference centers
COMPENSATION:
