Sodexo's Universities segment is seeking an experienced Retail Food Service Manager 3 to support our high volume retail dining operation at Aurora University located in Aurora, IL, 40 miles west of Chicago.
Dining operations at this $2.6MIL MV account include residential dining, retail operations, concessions and catering. Retail Manager will manage a total of 4 retail outlets on the Aurora University Campus. Jazzman's Coffee shop, LaCarte, The Spot & Orchard Center. Knowledge of Retail programs is a benefit. Reporting to the GM, this position will oversee up to 40 Sodexo associates and 4 supervisors.
We are looking for candidates who will manage:
- and inspire a large frontline staff of up to 40 associates, including students and 4 supervisors;
- financials and cost controls;
- department HACCP and safety programs for regulatory compliance;
- scheduling, training and mentoring;
- daily operation standards.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Strong leadership and positive communication skills
- 3+ years experience in a food service management position
- Proven to be strong in client relationship building
- Successful and engaging customer service skills

Responsible for food quality & customer service in an operation that may have branded concepts or other retail offerings. Directs the work of hourly and supervisory food service workers, as well as other managers.
- Ensures there is a zero harm mindset for ourselves, our customers, our food & employees.
- Directs daily operations of food quality & customer service in a retail food operation that may include branded concepts ensuring that employees have appropriate equipment, supplies and resources.
- Manages cash handling protocols & control procedures according to Sodexo policies.
- Maintains client satisfaction for food quality & customer service.
- Accountable for the execution of service quality by maintaining the highest level of delivery.
- Supervises day-to-day work activities of food service workers, supervisors & managers.
