As the Senior Supervisor of Transportation, you will be responsible for daily supplier performance operationsensuring that all warehousing, transportation, communications, and customer service issues and requests are resolved in a manner that meets or exceeds the customer's expectations. What you'll do on a typical day:
Manage your team to route, plan, update, and track orders and shipments; investigate and resolve issues submitted by customer, suppliers, or clients
Practice continuous business improvement by reviewing procedures and work habits, and implementing steps to lower costs while increasing performance; initiate LEAN concepts into the operation at all levels
Schedule daily work load for yourself and your team based on input from customer, dispute requests from suppliers, and PRRs and warning letters; monitor and prioritize weekly disputes and escalation requests from customer and supplier; compile supplier dispute data and chart supplier on-time shipping performance
Investigate denied disputes to make a final decision on whether supplier is at fault or not; make appropriate shipping performance score adjustment
Answer inquiries from suppliers, client, and/or customers; manage and plan track and trace activities
Track and document delivery performance and report metrics to management and the customer as required; maintain organized files on all shipping documents and analyze root cause reasons for poor shipping performance
Maintain a safe work environment free from harassment, drugs, and workplace violence; promptly document and report all issues, concerns, and incidents to management; work to resolve all problems that effect job performance, employee morale, and customer satisfaction
What you need to succeed at XPO:
At a minimum, you'll need:
Bachelor's degree in logistics or related field
5 years of experience in Logistics/Supply Chain or related field
3 years of experience managing a Logistics/Supply Chain team including hiring, mentoring, training, counseling and yearly reviews
Able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Availability to work weekends, holidays, off-hour shifts, on-call as the demands of the business dictate; travel 10-20% of the time
It'd be great if you also have:
Familiarity with LMS, TMS or other COTS software, and Microsoft SharePoint
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate and present clean, organized, and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience
Demonstrated ability in process improvement
Lean Green Belt/Kaizen experience
Ability to work independently and in a team environment; customer-focused and results-driven
