Job Summary:

Lead, manage and develop direct reports in collaboration with the Director of Sales, HQ sales, all market team members, retailers and professional end users. Ensure best practices and effective solutions are implemented to deliver profitable sales growth through the retailer channel and end users.

 

   

Leadership:

  • Provide quality leadership and direction while upholding Benjamin Moore values and fostering operational excellence at all times
  • Drive collaboration, teamwork, cooperation and communication among all roles within the market, motivating and empowering the team to deliver results through constructive problem solving, facilitating creative improvements and inspiring others
  • Lead employee development by identifying and fulfilling educational and training needs, as well as through coaching, mentoring, challenging assignments and career advancement , resulting in increased competency and productivity

Management:

  • Manage performance and daily activities through personal involvement ensuring delegated tasks are effectively completed to grow market share and steadily drive profitable sales for Benjamin Moore & Co. and its constituents
  • Construct and execute local plans, timelines & milestones that support company initiatives and challenging goals, and ensure optimal market alignment of field efforts and programs that best impact the bottom line in the local market area
  • Monitor and manage allocated resources and budgets in a profit conscious manner with responsiveness to the need for economies and cost controls
  • Conduct consistent analysis of quantitative results and document effectiveness and performance utilizing the on-line Performance Management System
  • Proactively solicit and communicate pertinent information including market trends and competitive information between the field, HQ, customers, end users and vendors
  • Ensure corporate & safety and compliance with company programs, merchandising, brand standards & evaluations

Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership skills
  • Management experience, preferably of outside sales staff
  • College degree or 5-7 years of equivalent business experience (paint industry preferred)
  • Working knowledge of the paint industry
  • Practical business analytical & planning experience
  • Demonstrated record of outside sales achievement and closing skills
  • Ability to analyze situation, identify opportunities for success
  • Effective decision making and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication, listening and public speaking skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn and retain product specific information
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, CRM and Business Objects
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record a must
  • Willingness & ability to travel (in field with team 80%) & work evenings/nights
