The Service Account Manager meets members face to face and solves issues regarding medical, pharmacy, or dental benefits, eligibility and claims, prior authorization / notification requests, while delivering compassionate service and resolving issues. This role takes ownership in the end to end escalation situation, collaborating with business partners to ensure that issues are resolved timely and communicated clearly to the provider.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Ensures quality customer service for internal and external customers
  • Responds to incoming customer service requests verbally in person and with written correspondence
  • Identifies and assesses customers' needs quickly and accurately
  • Solves problems systematically, using sound business judgment
  • Partners with other billing and eligibility department representatives to resolve complex customer service inquiries
  • Monitors delegated customer service issues to ensure timely and accurate resolution
  • Applies appropriate communication techniques when responding to customers, particularly in stressful situations
  • Informs and educates new customers regarding billing / invoicing set up and billing / payment procedures
  • Responds to customer service inquiries in writing as necessary
  • Processes member terminations (i.e. phone disenrollment)
  • Establishes and demonstrates competency in eligibility, billing and receivable systems and associated applications
  • Implements customer service strategies and recommends related improvements / enhancements
  • Maintains timely, accurate documentation for all appropriate transactions.
  • Makes corrections and adjustments
  • Consistently meets established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standards
  • Proactively seeks to further develop billing and accounts receivable competencies
  • Keeps management abreast of all outstanding issues
  • Adapts procedures, processes, and techniques to meet the more complex position requirements
  • Seeks involvement in continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • Ensures quality customer service for internal and external customers
**This position requires 30 - 40% Travel in the Tampa, FL Market for Member Events in the community (Member meetings in the territory, kickoff meetings, product launches, events, new member orientations, Community Room in HUD Housing Development, etc.)
This position would also require ACHA Level II Background checks (fingerprinting) by the State of Florida for all Clinicians that have face - to - face contact with members and will require renewal every five years.**

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • 2+ years of customer service experience
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Word (create correspondence and work within templates), Microsoft Excel (data entry, sort, filter, and work within tables), and Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar management)
  • Ability to Travel up to 50% within the assigned territory for Member Events
  • Access to reliable transportation that will enable you to travel within the assigned territories
  • Knowledge of State and Federal Regulations of CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) and Florida Medicaid
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends, per business needs
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher)
  • Prior experience as a resolution specialist, claims rep or prior authorization agent
  • Experience dealing with dual special needs plans
  • Knowledge of medical claims billing ICD9, CPT, or HCPC Codes
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills (written & spoken)
