Technical and Operational
Become a very knowledgeable person on the products AEP sells or services.
Provide on site assistance to service the equipment sold by AEP or any equipment serviced under contract from a given customer.
Perform maintenance and supervise installations of equipment on de-energized high voltage substations.
Work heights might be as high as 12ft (normally is at ground level) and no life line (work on energized lines ) is to be performed.
Supervise maintenance and installation crews to guarantee that equipment sold is properly installed.
Adhere to the most stringent safety requirements following customer safety plans (for those customers who have duly implemented quality and safety plans).
Implement (temporary) AEP's safety plans in those worksites where customer has not defined one.
Physical Demands included but not limited to:
Handle tools, equipment, fine motor skills.
Reach with hand and arms.
Sometimes climb and walk on heights often greater than 4ft not higher than 12ft.
Able to work from standing position for long periods of time.
Must be able to pull, push, lift high and low, items that weight up to 35 lbs
Main focus in the United States.

Professional and Technical Requirements
Electrician or mechanic with electrical knowledge.
Associate's degree in a technical field.
Spanish is a plus.
Dependable with the ability to handle multiple activities successfully. Good verbal and written communication skills.
Mature with the ability to take direction, reporting data and completing time and expense reports.
Minimum 2 years of proven experience in high voltage work.
Ability to read electrical drawings, control schematics, substation drawings, and mechanical drawings.
Autocad basic knowledge. Basic Computer skills.
Proficiency in MS Office suite.
