Description

The Merchandise Specialist is responsible for managing the merchandise and pricing needs for our top National Accounts.  This includes but is not limited to the following; customer formulary development, increasing gross profit, managing key supplier relationships, supplier presentations and reporting, and training junior team members on systems and procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Partners and works with the Strategic Account Manager on National Accounts
  • Manages and prices national accounts
  • Manages key national accounts
  • Manages supplier relationships
  • Performs supplier quarterly reviews
  • Performs customer quarterly reviews
  • Manages merchandise mailbox for the team
  • Assists Associate Manager on key projects and initiatives
  • Responsible for the creation of supplier reporting for annual business review meeting
  • Assisting in chargeback audits
  • Creation and updating of customer sale plans
  • Business/Data analytics on an as needed basis



Qualifications

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:  

Typically 1-3 years of increasing responsibility in terms of any applicable professional experience, including Business Analysis or Data Analysis.

PREFERRED EDUCATION: 

Typically a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline.

GENERAL SKILLS & COMPETENCIES: 

  • Good understanding of industry practices
  • Proficient with tools, systems, and procedures
  • Basic planning/organizational skills and techniques
  • Good decision making, analysis and problem solving skills with ability to multi-task
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good presentation and public speaking skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Basic conflict resolution skills
  • Developing professional credibility
  • Business/Data Analytics knowledge

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: 

  • Expert in Microsoft Excel
  • Fluent in PowerPoint
  • Dental Product Knowledge is a plus
  • Strong understanding of Internal systems and databases is strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of the chargeback process is strongly preferred
