ICF Licensed Practical Nurse
Mental Health Support Services Hourly Rate: $20.47 Deadline: 5 pm April 18, 2019 Chesterfield County's Department of Mental Health Support Services is seeking an ICF Licensed Practical Nurse to implement nursing interventions to include monitoring residents' health, administering medications and treatments as prescribed, checking vitals of residents, providing nursing care as prescribed by physician or identified by resident need, providing other nursing care as needed in accordance with all applicable federal, state, local and agency policies. Document all medical information and incidents. Communicate medical and need to know information. Provide training and on-site training and direct care staff as it relates to health and medical interventions as needed. Maintain medical supplies and equipment. Maintain license to practice in Virginia. Be a positive role model for residents. Communicate with family members and guardians of residents. Document observations, interventions and supports provided to residents in electronic health record within required time frames. Perform other work as required.

Successful candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED; graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing; two years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Current license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Prefer experience in an ICF/IID or long-term care setting. One year of experience in a human services field, serving individuals with intellectual disabilities required. Physically able to lift, carry transfer, bend, stoop, be on feet for extended periods, stay awake on overnight shifts. Computer skills necessary to enter information into an electronic medical record system. Ability to type. Professionalism and the ability to protect confidentiality required. Good driving record required. Must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required. A Chesterfield County application is required and must be submitted online by deadline.
