Due to continued growth, we are looking for a customer focused pharmacist to join us as one of our newest Consulting Pharmacists in Overland Park! The consulting pharmacist performs various duties which support our members and internal Customer Service Advocates; consults with members regarding the use of medications, medication side effects, drug therapy, and potential drug interactions; assists customers with pharmacist - related inquiries about their orders; provides explanations and interpretations within area of expertise; limited interactions with physicians and other healthcare providers.

*Consultations are primarily telephonic, with the opportunity for virtual communication.*

*** Training will be Monday - Friday 7 am – 3:30 pm for 6 weeks ***
*** Primarily Day Shift: Monday - Friday, 5 am - 1:30 pm or 6 am- 2:30 pm shift ***
*** Rotating Overnight Shift approximately 1 week per month ***
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Conducts Quality Assurance and verifies the accuracy of all prescriptions
  • May take new prescriptions and evaluates patient histories
  • May need to interpret physicians' prescriptions and verify orders
  • Consults with patients regarding use of medications and potential drug interactions
  • Analyzes and investigates concerns
  • Provides explanations and interpretations within area of expertise

Required Qualifications:
  • BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D degree
  • Current and unrestricted Pharmacist license for the State of KS
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in a retail pharmacy or customer service setting as a Licensed Pharmacist
  • Basic level of experience with MS Word and the ability to type and navigate a Windows environment
  • Must be flexible and available to work the designated shift
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a telephonic role (i.e. call center)
  • Managed Care and / or PBM experience
  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Board certifications (i.e. Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS)) or other certifications (i.e. Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE))
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Strong organizational skills
