Sodexo Universities is seeking a skilled and career-oriented Executive Pastry Chef 2 - on the prestigious campus of Florida State University located in sunny Tallahassee, FL!

Sodexo/Seminole Dining at Florida Sate University is looking for a Dynamic Executive Pastry Chef to lead a cutting edge pastry/bakery/dessert program at FSU. The position will lead a high end program through our catering department, providing a world class offering for high end and Presidential events, while also developing signature items and programming for our Residential and Retail dining locations. Ideal candidate will have high end baking/pastry/dessert experience, supervisory and team training experience, client interaction skills, and program development experience.

The ideal candidate has:

  • a strong culinary background, with the demonstrated ability to stay current with new culinary trends;

  • previous experience working in a high volume facility; and strong management skills



Position Summary

Provides culinary leadership within a medium sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training. Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution.
Key Duties
- Implements & coordinates the culinary function.
- Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.
- Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.
- Manages catering & retail areas.
- Customer & Client satisfaction.
- Financial management to include food cost & labor management.
- Manages food & physical safety programs.



Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree 
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
