Responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the Melville facilities and TSMs.  Supervises all security officers, interviews and selects new security officers, conducts performance reviews, recommends wage increases, monitors attendance, and responsible for early stages of conflict resolution.  Responsible for maintaining accurate records for various safety and regulatory documentation.  Ensures that safety inspections are performed twice monthly at each facility and that problems found are corrected.  Ensures all training for First Aid Responders is completed.  Oversees alarm issues for remote HSD (Henry Schein Dental) facilities.  Remains on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for all burglar and fire alarm activations.


Supervises the Security department, hires new team members, conducts performance reviews, recommends wage increases, monitors attendance, and responsible for early stages of conflict resolution.

Maintains and updates regularly, the security card access system database, including all data entry regarding changes, additions and deletions.  Reviews and follows up on access system exception reports.

Reviews alarm system open/close reports for remote HSD (Henry Schein Dental) locations weekly.  Compiles exception reports biweekly and forwards to appropriate Regional Operations Managers.  Serves as the liaison between the remote HSD sites and alarm vendor.

Maintains records of visitors, temporary access badge issuance, cleaning service and cafeteria personnel ID badges, Saturday building logs and building closing checklists.

Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required by the Vice President, Global Security & Safety.

Conducts security/safety visits of the Henry Schein Dental facilities.

Ensures that bimonthly facility safety inspections are conducted and follows up to ensure all problems are corrected.

Issues all building and office keys and maintains accurate records of key distribution.

Participates in investigations as assigned by the Vice President, Global Security & Safety

Provides a monthly report to the Vice President, Global Security & Safety detailing all pertinent activities that have occurred in the month concerning any safety and security issues.

Responsible for maintaining accurate records for First Aid training and OSHA bloodborne pathogens compliance, seeing that both are completed in a timely manner.

Reviews and revises twice annually the records of the Henry Schein Inc. Emergency Response plan.

Conducts quarterly testing of the fire and burglar alarm systems.

Minimum of 5 years security, safety, or law enforcement experience in a supervisory capacity.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of TSMs.  Basic knowledge of safety inspections and burglar and fire alarm systems.  High degree of integrity, self-motivation, adaptability, and ability to learn quickly and handle multiple tasks.  Appropriately flexible to work changing work shifts when needed.
