Job Description

We have an immediate position open for a Preventive Maintenance Mechanic to work on our fleet of garbage trucks at our Lacey, WA site. Mechanics interested in secure, steady employment are encouraged to apply.  At least 1 year of experience doing preventative maintenance on diesel trucks is preferred. Welding experience is a plus.  Must have a CDL or be able to obtain one within first 90 days of employment (we do have a training program and will help you get your CDL, so must have clean driving record).  Must have own tools.

Hours for this position are Monday-Thursday 2:00PM-10:30PM and Friday's from 12:00PM-8:30PM (overtime and Saturday work may be required when needed)

Responsibilities include:
â¢Â Â   Performing  repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services.
â¢Â Â   Performing  inspections, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
â¢Â Â   Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
â¢Â Â   Conducting safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
â¢Â Â   Completing  required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
â¢Â Â   Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
â¢Â Â   Performs maintenance related work as required.
â¢Â Â   Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
â¢Â Â   Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
â¢Â Â   Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks.

Ideal Candidate will possess:
â¢Â Â   1 year of experience in heavy truck equipment maintenance and repair preferred; or completion of accredited vocational technical school program.
â¢Â Â   CDL preferred (required to obtain in first 90 days of employment).
â¢Â Â   Provide personal tools.
â¢Â Â   Welding experience a plus
â¢Â Â   Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair.
â¢Â Â   Ability to read and comprehend service and technical information.
