Summary of Job Profile:
The Compliance Manager is a valued compliance professional responsible for handling day to day operations of Obria’s compliance program. Reporting directly to Orbia’s Chief Compliance Officer, and based at a corporate hub in Waltham, Massachusetts, you will partner closely with stakeholders in five business units to implement Orbia’s strategic compliance initiatives and message a culture of integrity throughout the company. Your ability to work across various facets of a compliance program (e.g. training, communications, risk assessment, process and policy development, and investigations) will contribute significantly to Orbia’s compliance program and mitigate risk appropriately.
The ideal candidate will be located in the Waltham, MA area.
What you’ll do:
Work closely with the Chief Compliance Officer and compliance team members globally to design and implement the program’s strategic initiatives, including:
Handle compliance program day-to-day operations and build and enhance compliance processes across five business units.
Provide day-to-day guidance to employees and business leaders on a variety of compliance topics, utilizing a deep understanding of at least two of the following subject areas: anti-corruption, antitrust, data privacy and export controls.
Design engaging and employee-friendly compliance communications that instill a global speak-up culture and embed Orbia’s compliance policies and procedures at all-levels of the company.
Deploy meaningful and effective online and in-person training programs on a variety of compliance topics including anti-corruption, antitrust, data privacy, and Code of Ethics topics.
Collaborate internally to understand business initiatives and partner with Finance, HR, Internal Audit, and other departments to design appropriate policies, controls, and auditing and monitoring processes for areas of risk.
Conduct or oversee investigations into questions and concerns raised on Orbia’s Ethics Helpline, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in the business groups.
Prepare periodic compliance updates for Orbia’s management team and Audit Committee, including data and trends regarding compliance culture.
Ability to work effectively with people across all levels, cultures and geographies to build cross-functional relationships in a global, decentralized setting
Strong experience conducting cross-border internal investigations is highly preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, including the ability to create clear executive presentations; tactful and sensitive to diverse cultural norms and ways of communicating
Energized by a wide scope of compliance responsibilities, open to possibilities, possesses a can-do attitude, and is proactive at both the strategic and tactical level
Strong understanding of compliance laws including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, U.K. Bribery Act, global Competition laws, and data privacy laws, coupled with excellent judgment and the ability advise on legal and compliance matters across the company
Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, focusing on critical priorities in a fast paced, and at times high stress, work environment
Strong work ethic and ability to produce high quality work under deadline pressures
Able to travel to domestic and international offices (likely several multi-day trips per year), sometimes on an unpredictable schedule
