Sodexo is seeking a Spanish speaking Registered Dietitian for their Assistant Clinical Nutrition Manager position at Flushing Hospital in NYC. This position will assist the Clinical Nutrition Manager with all aspects of clinical care and assume responsibilities for the clinical nutrition department in the CNM's absence. This role will be 30% management and 70% clinical with the primary responsibility of providing Medical Nutrition Therapy counseling in their Outpatient Nutrition Program as well as provide cross coverage for the inpatient setting as needed.

The successful candidate will:

  • Possess strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, marketing and communication skills (both verbal and written);
  • Be involved in performance improvement projects with a passion for driving and improving the patient experience;
  • Educate and counsel patients on a variety of nutrition conditions;
  • Be involved in local wellness initiatives (ie. Attend events & present on nutrition topics);
  • Assist CNM with all aspect of patient care within the outpatient and inpatient setting;
  • Acts as a mentor to students and new dietitians.

Is this opportunity right for you? We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Registered Dietitian credentials with at least 1 year of experience. CDN licensure required.
  • Bilingual fluency in both English and Spanish Required;
  • Experience working with insurance providers and billing (preferred);
  • Have the proven ability to effectively engage, motivate and influence others regarding their nutrition;
  • Have a history of working independently with little direction and with a positive outlook;
  • Have a commitment to continued education in the nutrition field;
  • Experience with CBORD food service application is a plus.

Position Summary

Functions as the in-unit lead Clinical leader for a small - medium account. Manages the daily operations of nutrition services through direct supervision of both non-exempt employees and entry-level exempt professional employees.

Key Duties
- Directs daily operations of nutrition programs and ensure customer and client satisfaction levels are met.
-May provide direct nutrition care to population served
-Executes operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to other departments; and collects and reports outcomes.
-Maintains and develops client relationships and client satisfaction for nutrition services and promotes nutrition services.
-. - Manages employees to ensure they meet goals, cost controls deadlines, and collect outcomes.
-Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as Sodexo/client policies and procedures (e.g. Health Dept., HIPAA/Privacy Act, Joint Commission, quality assurance, safety, operations, and personnel).



Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree

Basic Functional Experience - 1 year work experience in health care including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted or independent living facilities, long-term care, retirement homes, or clinics + Meets eligibility requirements for certification as a Registered Dietitian
