Your dedication to cross-disciplinary collaboration will help develop groundbreaking technologies, such as iOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS. By crafting these distinct, holistic user experiences, you'll continue to uphold and advance the excellence people expect from Apple devices. The Core Platform team within Apple's Core OS organization is looking for a talented and inspired manager to lead the Software team that understands the Hardware. The team is responsible in all phases of Software delivery of Apple's iOS based products, from silicon conception until ramp to mass production. You will work with the SoC design team to help define features of new silicon, be responsible for the SecureROM and secure boot architecture and delivery as well as bring-up of all new ARM based silicon. You will review all iOS based hardware (iPhone/iPad/AppleWatch/AppleTV/iPod), bring-up all new iOS based HW, deliver platform device drivers, and help debug and solve problems from prototype to production. This is a highly multi-functional and visible role, you will be directly involved in decisions that effect every future iOS device. The position requires a very technical and hands-on leader, experience in working closely with silicon and hardware teams and a deep understanding of bare metal software. You are a highly self-motivated individual who creates a dynamic and creative team environment in which problems are solved in new and innovative ways.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience managing a software development team
  • Direct experience in boot loader development, device driver development, kernel, and firmware software technologies.
  • Understanding of SoC level design
  • Evidence of driving technical innovation
  • Strong communication skills


Leadership and management of a team of talented software engineers in a fast-paced and demanding software development environment Working closely with the hardware and silicon teams to bring-up new platforms, products, and prototype systems Defining the software roadmap to support a range of hardware platforms, including iPhone, iPad, AppleWatch, AppleTV, and iPod Lead the team's assistance in requirements for future hardware and custom silicon

Education & Experience

Bachelor's or Masters degree in computer science or related field
