Description

Technical Mgr (Stamford): Responsible for technical ops & mgmgt of vessels incld maintenance of safe standards & effective control (incld budget, supplies, repairs, dry docking) according w/ good maritime practices & in strict compliance to all company, local, national & int'l standards. Conduct detailed & extensive shipboard prgms in order to realize company's policies & objectives. Explain policies goals & objectives to all ship staff. Solicit suggestions from sea going staff on methods of improving business in a cost effective manner & communicate ideas to mgmt. Insure fuel conservation & op efficiency. Evaluate, appraise, develop & recruit staff. Monitor safety, investigate & rpt on Fleet accidents & casualties. Maintain close contact w/ Class, Flag States, Port Authorities & Agents. Act as primary interface w/ commercial & technical depts incld HSEQ, crewing, supply chain, vessel IT & CommTech. Insure compliance w/ shipboard SEP & SMA Systems, incld ISM Code & other mandatory compliance recs dictated by IMO, Flag States & National Authorities. Prep follow through & maintain vessels projections, bdgts & monthly expenses. Approve requisitions using RFQ process. Screen & approve vendors. Coordinate disposal of oily waste/sludge & garbage. Analyse ship rpts & inform Fleet Mgr. Visit vessels. Act as member of emergency response team. Use MARKS & SMMS technology. MA Maritime Mgmt. 2 yrs exp. Travel 8 to 12 times/yr to ports 25% int'l.
