â¢Â Â Â Schedules or assigns work to Mechanics, PM Mechanics or other Maintenance Shop personnel.
â¢Â Â Â Coordinates and/or transports vehicles to outside service for repairs, as needed.
â¢Â Â Â Tests vehicles to troubleshoot problems and/or tests repairs to ensure proper and safe completion.
â¢Â Â Â Prepares purchase orders and researches best prices on parts or repairs from vendors.
â¢Â Â Â Makes emergency road calls to repair trucks.
â¢Â Â Â Communicates regularly with the Region Maintenance Manager.
â¢Â Â Â Assists in monthly financial projections and annual budget.
â¢Â Â Â Responsible for maintaining departmentâs costs within budget
Must Have Skills:
â¢Â Â Â Must have ability to plan, budget, schedule, and supervise multiple projects from concept to completion.
â¢Â Â Â Must have excellent working knowledge of DOT compliance requirements.
â¢Â Â Â Must have ability to motivate staff to meet corp., region, division, and district objectives.
â¢Â Â Â Must have excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills and ability to achieve cost effective solutions.
â¢Â Â Â 5+ years maintenance experience in truck, light or heavy equipment maintenance and repair. Waste industry experience desired.
â¢Â Â Â Ability to train and motivate staff a must.
â¢Â Â Â Knowledge of air brake, hydraulic and electrical systems.
â¢Â Â Â Trade or Technical School CertificateÂ preferred. High School or Equivalent required.
â¢Â Â Â Holds or ability to certify for CDL within 90 days of start date.
â¢Â Â Â Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair.
