DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION, & ENGAGEMENT



Central Arkansas Water (CAW), an award-winning water utility serving Little
Rock-North Little Rock and surrounding areas, is currently seeking an inspiring,
collaborative, courageous, innovative, and visionary leader with outstanding
people and management skills to serve as Special Advisor to the CEO on
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Engagement for the utility. CAW, the largest
drinking water supplier in the state of Arkansas, is located in the heart of the
states vibrant and thriving center of business, education, research and technology
along the Arkansas River and serves a retail and wholesale population of more
than 450,000 in 19 cities and communities. CAWs 325 uniquely dedicated and
passionate employees provide service to an area encompassing 530 square miles.

Job Summary

! e Special Advisor to the CEO on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Engagement
(the Advisor) will work across all departments within CAW and in partnership
with various community organizations to eliminate systemic organizational
marginalization and promote inclusive practices for the betterment of the utility,
the communities CAW serves, and the water profession.


Quali cations

related eld OR

relevant subject matter at collegiate level or similar educational

Bachelors Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Organizational Psychology, or

Equivalent work experience advocating for and implementing change within
a multi-cultural environment. Degree requirement may be waived for
candidates whose work experience demonstrates a pro ciency in many of the
desired knowledge and skills
Must be a high-performing, innovative, values-driven, informed &
passionate leader
Masters Degree in a stated or related eld; experience presenting at regional
or national seminars, workshops, or conferences on relevant topics;
published relevant articles, studies, or commentary; lectured/trained on

opportunities; certi cation in Type indicator(s) i.e., Myers-Briggs, Birkman,
Four Lenses, Enneagram, etc.; uent in Spanish are preferred
Must have experience in developing and implementing diversity, equity, and
inclusion programs; leading groups/teams of 5 or more; time management


skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines; plus, pro cient with MS O ce
Suite
Must have a proven track record in challenging & in uencing peers to approach
all work with an equity lens & an understanding of cultural values &
norms of various communities particularly color and LGBTQ communities
Must have the ability to engage & work with diverse sta & leadership to
promote trust & collaboration; able to remain solution-focused & respectful

in all interactions with sta , vendors, customers, community organizations,
and elected o cials; able to advocate/address issues of diversity, equity,

inclusiveness; and able to manage multiple projects e ectively & quickly
from one to another
Must have highly developed, excellent skills in written and oral
communications including speci cally e ective interculturalcommunication
