Key Qualifications

  • Outstanding skills and experience in mechanical design
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills and general mechanical engineering analysis
  • Strong materials knowledge; good understanding of different materials and grades
  • Ability to articulate design issue quantitatively both verbally and with documentation
  • Good hands-on model-shop experience (e.g. mill, lathe)
  • Solid 3-D CAD skills
  • Demonstrated ability in metallic and composites part design
  • Working knowledge of finite element analysis theory and general mechanical engineering analysis
  • Experience in a team environment and being self-motivated to close design issues
  • Flexibility and comfort working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment prone to change

Description

Overall mechanical component and system design from concept to shipment. Developing design and analysis capability in house. Documenting and communicating designs, trade-offs, and status updates. Developing test and validation plans.

Education & Experience

BSME required; MS preferred

Additional Requirements

  • Design for Manufacturability (DFM), and Design for Assembly (DFA), statistical tolerance analysis techniques, functional dimensioning, and geometric tolerancing. Significant prior experience in Unigraphics and/or Pro-E is preferred. Consumer electronics experience not required, serious consideration will be given to qualified candidates from medical, automotive, aerospace and other fields with relevant technology and development models. Travel +/- 10%
