Job Summary:

This is a unique opportunity to gain broad experience, have significant responsibility for a variety of projects and engage with key decision-makers. Reporting to the FP&A Manager, this individual will support the business planning process. This position will take ownership of the budgets and forecasts and provide analytical support and will support management planning and decision making by identifying, maintaining, and evaluating information; recommending actions.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • § Participates in the annual planning process by conducting analysis (Pre and Post) to ensure efficient operations (Wages per hour, Cost per gallon)
  • § Provides rolling forecasts critical for executive decision making which may include predictive modeling/time series analysis based on available information
  • § Financial Analysis and KPI/metrics reporting on the monthly/quarterly calls providing recommendations and opinions on issues at hand, and ensure financial perspectives are included
  • § Proactively pursue opportunities to add value to management's decision making ability through unsolicited analysis and trend reporting
  • Provide day to day oversight of departmental budgets, financial forecasts and program planning
  • Recommends financial actions by assessing options in relation to organization goals.
  • Provide Executive Summaries of risks and opportunities associated with analysis, budget, and forecast, using an in-depth understanding of the corporate strategy (Strategic Pillars) and the external business environment
  • Ad hoc decision support as required for any segment of the organization including Executives
  • Continuously update skill set, expertise, and technical knowledge by attending the required workshops and courses
  • Work closely with other team members in order to achieve company goals
  • Required Skills
  • The intern can be a college student preferably in Business, Finance, or Economics. MBA students are preferred.
  • Excellent technical and analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong team player with excellent motivational and interpersonal skills to drive successful results.
  • Proactive, results-focused, and versatile.
  • Presentation: must demonstrate clear, concise articulation of proposed actions, illustrating opportunity, alternatives, recommendation and associated economics.
  • Ability to understand financial statements and respective components.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SAP/ BPC an advantage.
  • Ability to communicate openly and honestly with colleagues and customers.
  • Takes personal responsibility for the quality and content of the work, and complies with information confidentiality requirements where applicable.
  • Establishes and maintains effective relationships by collaborating with customers by fully understanding and meeting their expectations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; able to work across business lines.
  • Capacity to work in a non-structured environment and help in building structure/governance processes.
  • Data literacy -- the ability to describe business use cases/outcomes, data sources and management concepts, and analytical approaches/options.
  • The ability to translate among the languages used by executive, business, IT, and quant stakeholders.
