Rockwell Automation's Sales Training Program is a rotational training program that is a combination of sales, technical and professional training in both classroom and on-the-job settings. After completion of the training program, Associates are placed in a field sales office in one of our 40+ locations across North America.

There are three tracks in this program depending on which role you are hired into: Associate Account Manager, Associate Account Representative, and Associate Technology Consultant. While all three roles are customer-focused sales roles, there are some unique differences between them.

Account Representatives and Account Managers:
These two roles represent the primary points of contact between Rockwell Automation and our customers. They are responsible for managing customer relationships and driving market share growth across all of Rockwell Automation's offerings within their assigned customer responsibilities. Both of these roles partner in their efforts to grow Rockwell's sales across their assigned accounts. Account Representatives focus on qualifying sales targets and leads and identifying sales opportunities through virtual customer interaction, and Account Managers focus on progressing identified opportunities through the sales cycle and closing new business through in person customer interactions.

Technology Consultant: 
Rockwell Automation's Technology Consultants partner with our Account Representatives and Account Managers in the effort to win new business at our customers. Technology Consultants augment our sales efforts by providing pre-sales technical, product, and application knowledge pertaining to their assigned technology focus in customer interactions. Associate Technology Consultants are responsible for supporting the sales growth of Rockwell's business across all customers in a defined geography.

Our Associate Account Managers, Associate Account Representatives, and Associate Technology Consultants need to become thoroughly familiar with company policies and procedures and appropriately apply policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. Policies and procedures include, but not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation Information Network.

Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum cumulative GPA 2.75
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future for this job opening
Preferred Qualifications
  • Desired Minimum GPA 3.0
  • Willingness to relocate and a valid driver's license
  • Preferred degrees: Supply Chain & Operations Management, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, Industrial Distribution or a related technical discipline
  • Individuals must have a demonstrated record of technical competence, interpersonal skills, leadership ability, and a strong desire for achievement.
  • Previous co-op or intern engineering experience is desirable.
