Constructs, modifies, maintains, calibrates, and repairs machine shop tools, dies, jigs and fixtures. Works with engineers and tool designers to develop and modify tools.
Works from blueprints, specifications, and diagrams. Checks work with precision instruments.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions
Repair, modify and perform preventative maintenance on plastic injection molds and dies. Perform insert changes and preventative maintenance of molds/dies and other various functions in the movement of molds/dies and document work performed in various computer systems with proficiency. Support tool and fixture work requests from assembly lines. Ability to interact with operator's for troubleshooting issues. Ability to work from prints, 3D models and verbal instructions from supervisor and/or design engineers with minimal supervision. Ability to repair tools and fixtures without drawings. Ability to operate all electric lift trucks needed to perform job functions and operate tool room equipment with proficiency. Ability to lift and carry 55 lbs. Responsible for utilizing proper safety equipment and following all safety procedures. Responsible for performing housekeeping activities to maintain a clean and safe work environment. Ability to embrace change and respond quickly and constructively to changing priorities.
