Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Accounting required; CPA is a plus 6+ years progressive responsibility; a combination of public and corporate accounting preferred Accounting experience in the construction industry Needs to be a Hands-on accountant who is a problem solver, detail-oriented and focused on practical solutions to issues Highly motivated and productive employee Ability to properly manage and prioritize resources, people and projects Superior analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to provide creative solutions to real-time challenges Advanced written and oral communication skills to effectively disseminate information to all levels of management and the field High Proficiency with Excel Responsibilities: Work with the Controller and VP of Finance to oversee department functions including, but not limited to; financial and tax reporting, project budgets, banking, job cost and projections Become proficient in international tax and accounting rules Assist with annual financial statement audits Participate in the preparation, review and analysis of consolidated monthly, quarterly and annual financial information Reconciliation of intercompany account balances and multi-currency consolidation Review and distribute weekly job cost reports Participate in the preparation of income tax work papers to support complex income tax filings in the United States and Canada Responsible for the preparation of quarterly income tax estimate packages for S corporation shareholders Become a Go-to accounting expert for ERP software (Viewpoint) Participate in cross training activities intended to improve departmental coverage Assist with ongoing ad hoc requests and special projects EOE, E-Verify Employer Appy at https:/jobs-barnard-inc.icims.comobs171/assistant-controllerob
