Weekly Hours: 40

Role Number: 200197337

Locating your Apple device in Find My is done through Apple's Find My network- a crowdsourced network of hundreds of millions of Apple devices. It is soon supporting third-party devices which conform to the Find My Network Accessory Specification. Our team within the Location Technologies group of Apple's Sensing & Connectivity org desires a motivated and passionate senior engineer to help drive this new capability. We are seeking senior software engineers with interest in location technologies and experience in system design and wireless applications as ideal candidates. Join the team to solve challenging technical problems and drive innovation here at Apple.

Key Qualifications

  • At least 3-5 years professional experience as a software developer on either mobile or embedded platforms
  • Demonstrates ability to write and debug software in modern C++ and/or Objective-C
  • Comfortable scripting and developing in Unix-like systems
  • Thrives in a fast paced environment, developing large and complex systems
  • Comfortable navigating large code bases. Experience with refactoring legacy code.
  • Background in wireless applications a plus

We are a developer-driven team within the positioning technologies org at Apple seeking a highly motivated senior engineer with excellent software development, quantitative reasoning, and communication skills. The candidate should have a solid foundation in modern C++ and/or Objective-C. This includes having an understanding of common design patterns, debugging techniques, and memory management fundamentals. Additionally, experience with embedded databases, networking, concurrency patterns, sensor interfaces and iOS system interactions and optimizations are beneficial backgrounds. Knowledgable in software development best practices and comfortable communicating and promoting these ideas to others is also a desirable trait of candidates. To ensure product quality, engineers here also regularly focus on the development and improvement of offline tooling (including internal iOS applications), continuous integration, and data analysis and visualization. Therefore, engineers should be excited about not only building the critical pieces of software but also the infrastructure around it. We make a serious commitment to software quality, engineering productivity, and automation and we desire an engineer that shares those values. We are a team motivated by shipping software and getting technology in to the hands of our users; therefore, the engineers which design features and algorithms are expected to implement and deliver to production. Ideal candidates will be familiar with the software development lifecycle, taking an idea from concept, to prototype, to production, as well as communicating the status and progress of that work. Come join us build the technology which enables incredible location-aware experiences to our users now and for the future.
