The Environmental, Safety, and Health (EHS) Solutions Division of the National Security Agency is seeking an ambitious and versatile environmental engineering professional for an exciting career opportunity in our headquarters office at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland. You will join a team of over thirty EHS professionals who support mission operations around the world. Experience in environmental compliance, scientific sampling, design review, and program management is vital, as is the ability to work well on teams.
Description of the Job
This work requires knowledge of scientific principles, methods, and techniques concerned with facilities and systems to control pollution and protecting human health and the environment. You must also have an understanding of pertinent aspects of chemistry, biological sciences, and public health that pertain to the minimization of exposure to or release of pollutants. At least two years of practical experience in implementing major Federal environmental compliance programs (CAA, CWA, RCRA, and Oil Operations) is preferred.
As an Environmental Engineer at NSA, responsibilities will include:
- Oversight and review of the planning, design and construction of buildings
- Development and implementation of sustainability driven projects
The ideal candidate is someone with a desire for continual learning and strong problem-solving, analytic and interpersonal skills who is/can:
- communicate effectively
- collaborate with others
Specialized skills and experience in one or more of the following is desired:
- Developing, implementing or supporting environmental compliance programs
- Familiarity with state of Maryland environmental and federal regulations in air quality, storm water, hazardous waste and oil control
- Multi-media auditing
- Contract management processes
- Planning, design, and construction of buildings

On-the job training, Internal NSA courses, and external training will be made available based on the need and experience of the selectee.
Monday - Friday, with basic 8hr/day work requirements between 0600 to 1800 (flexible).
