Position Summary:
This role is open to any location in the U.S.

This position requires an individual with strong technical skills relating to Information Solutions business.  The Project Manager acts as liaison between the company and the client through an entire project life-cycle from order acceptance by Rockwell Automation through to client sign-off. The position of Project Manager has responsibility for successfully planning, controlling and managing project deliverables for projects.  To ensure that customer satisfaction is met, he or she manages the details of overall project schedules, and budgets.  The Project Manager manages the efforts of team members and third party vendors. Usually involves extensive interaction with sales, systems engineering, product development, and other members of cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products to clients.  May work at client site on a day-to-day or periodic basis. Monitors the project from initiation through delivery. Organizes the interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget constraints.  The duties will also require proposal and estimate generation, client negotiations, contract review and sub-contractor communications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  •  Functional
    o Proficiency with Project Management functions such as customer interface, project budget maintenance, project schedule maintenance and project manpower planning.
    o Able to develop project plans (budgets, schedules, and plans) for complex projects.
    o Able to gain ability to oversee complex projects with high-level quality requirements.
    o Proficient in working with engineering leaders to implement project requirements into hardware and software.
    o Experience with IT and OT project solutions and comfortable working with customers and sales in this space.

  •  Leadership
    o Commercial project achievement and leadership in the information and control space.
    o Ability to lead, motivate, and work within a technical team environment, and managing a geographically dispersed engineering and project delivery organization and making effective use of collaboration tools and remote management skill
    o Proven ability to manage multiple projects successfully and simultaneously.  Projects could range from small ($5,000) to medium and large ($3,000,000 or larger) and have a typical lifecycle of one month to 1.5 years plus.
    o Manages and reports all financial aspects of assigned projects

  •  Interpersonal
    o Able to work with internal and external customers for business development and implementation strategies
    o Excellent collaborative skills and ability to effectively work in a team setting
    o Applies complex and advanced project management and scheduling techniques

  •  Business
    o Understands the nature of the IT/OT industry and the available market.
    o Strong understanding of financial aspects of project management, percentage completion, revenue recognition, and project accounting
    o Personal commitment to excellence in every aspect of the business with an uncompromising stance on ethics and transparency, internally and externally

    Qualifications:
    Basic Qualifications:
    o Bachelor's Degree

    Preferred Qualifications:
    o Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or similar
    o Requires a minimum of 12 years previous experience with direct customer contact and project management
    o Requires a minimum of 12 years previous experience with complex information systems.
    o Ability to travel up to 25%
    o Must be available and willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays to meet customer project commitments.
    o Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial plants, ships, etc., which may require climbing, working in confined spaces and other unusual work environments.
    o Must be willing to work towards Project Management Professional (PMP) certification within one year if not already PMP certified.
    o Must be able to work in a stressful environment where constructive feedback from others is encouraged and in the office as part of a project team.
    o Must have excellent conflict resolution skills.
    o Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
    o Formal PMI based Project Management training
    o Typically auto, consumer goods, medical device industry, application or technology knowledge relevant to assigned business or geography.
    o Experience and knowledge of IT systems and industrial automation.
