needed at Carus LLC (d/b/a Carus Corporation) in Peru, IL to provide direction, guidance & leadership to marketing dept. Must have a Bachelor’s Degree, or foreign equiv. in Marketing, Business Administration, Management or related field + 5 yrs post-baccalaureate exp in the chemical/materials industry. Must travel 15% domestically & internationally.
Provide direction, guidance, and leadership to a marketing department. Drive the market research, identify new growth fields, and create/execute a go-to-market strategy required to successfully bring new Carus growth projects to market. Identify and quantify the market attractiveness of potential growth fields and, through the established Stage Gate process, coordinate the internal and external commercial resources required to bring new products and services to commercialization. Drive through leadership the development of business opportunities in attractive segments by cultivating relationships down the value chain and translating customer insights into segment strategies and targets. Develop the talent, influence the decisions that will enable the company to scale for growth. Cultivate a marketing mindset at Carus by establishing marketing processes (e.g. segmentation, go-to-market plans, and value proposition development) and supporting customer-facing functions. Direct market research and analysis required to assess the market attractiveness and strategic fit of Carus growth projects by coordinating the activities of direct subordinates with those of other functional areas, such as Sales & Marketing, Finance, and Operations. Develop the go-to-market strategy for new growth initiatives, including strategic market planning and profitability analysis. Provide analyses of primary and secondary market research and competitive intelligence to support strategic direction in cooperation with Business Development, Product Managers, Sales, and Marketing. Collaborate closely with sales, ensuring that the value of promotions and solutions are well-understood internally and externally to facilitate high awareness, faster sales, and better customer satisfaction. Work with cross-functional team to ensure delivery of high impact customer and market propositions that are deployed in line with Carus’ business strategy. Direct product launches by documenting product launch requirements, building launch schedules, and leading marketing efforts. Monitor launch activity for scope and resource or schedule risks. Plan/lead mitigation efforts accordingly. Identify and prioritize opportunities to continuously improve the product launch process or other associated activities. Direct the sales strategy for new product launches and strengthen product development by providing feedback on customer requirements and developing value propositions. Develop ongoing liaison with key regulatory and business organizations in the targeted applications markets to ensure that significant developments in the field are identified and monitored. Maintain awareness of current industry and operational benchmarks, trends, and practices. Assist the Executive Committee in updating the overall company strategic plan. Assist VP of Commercial Development with monthly meetings, goal setting, and mid-year/year-end reporting
