Description

Systems Engineer-Wireless Connectivity, Warren, MI, General Motors. Create sys requirements & technology roadmaps for next generation psgr vehicle connectivity technologies, including Wi-Fi, WiGig, Dedicated Short-Range Communications, Ultra-Wideband, & Vehicle to Everything, using MATLAB, Jenkins, Jira, IBM RTC/DOORS/ DOORS NG tools. Generate block diagrams, system models, & technical specs for wireless connectivity features, functions, & subsystems using MATLAB, Visio, ADB in Linux & Windows Platforms. Perform DFMEA, fault tree analysis, & field assessments to identify & resolve potential failure points using FIT, Wireshark, Iperf, vector signal analyzer, spectrum analyzer & tcp dump. Lead system peer reviews & create interoperable validation plans with teams & external chipset suppliers using Agile framework. Collaborate with suppliers to assess technical feasibility, KPIs, & requirements of new features. Required travel via private automobile to GM Milford Proving Grounds (MI) to test pre-production & production vehicles on AM/FM range & RF anechoic chamber for short range connectivity performance, 2 weeks per year. Support wireless connectivity feature testing & validation field trips for urban, dense & congested environment testing in MI, IL, OH. Required travel to perform short range connectivity testing, 4 weeks per year (11% annual travel). Master, Electrical or Computer Engineering. 12 months experience Engineer, generating block diagrams, system models, & technical specifications for wireless connectivity features, functions, & subsystems using MATLAB & Visio, in Linux &Windows Platforms, or related.
