Sodexo is seeking a Food Operations Manager 2 for the United States Marine Corps located in Camp Pendleton, Ca. This posiition will direct operations at the Cold Chop Central Kitchen Operation. The Central Kitchen will be responsible for the all of the cold prep work and production of all cold vegetable items and their distribution throughout the entire military base. The Centralized Operation will be delivering 3,600+ pounds of produce daily. The ideal candidate must be highly organized to ensure production is complete and deliveries are accurate, ensure systems, processes and procedures are followed, minimize food waste, follow all HACCP and ServeSafe requirements, and manage a 7 day a week operation and staff, over 2 shifts, in a union enviroment. Union experience and high volume production experience preferred.

The successful candidate will:

  • identify customer needs and expectations;
  • ensure that Sodexo and customer goals are aligned and met;
  • educate and develop rapport with clients and promote partnerships;
  • promote a customer/client centered culture that strives to exceed customer and client needs;
  • coordinate all unit catering initiatives to drive sales growth and track results.
  • maintain and improve service level resulting in increased customer satisfaction;
  • ensure all HAACP standards are followed; and/or
  • demonstrate resourcefulness and quick responsiveness to client and customer requests.

Position Summary

Provides leadership and supervision for the on-site food service exempt and non-exempt level staff in the delivery of our contractual agreement with the client. Provides supervision for food services at account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the company. Key Duties

- Directs daily operations of food service to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources, ensures operating standards and regulatory requirements are met

- Develops and implements plans, projects, with defined objectives, methods, timetables and budget to support client and Sodexo strategic plan

- Ensures adherence to all HR standards for Sodexo, client, and regulatory agencies



Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
