The Spotlight team is looking for an excellent software engineer to join our team. Spotlight revolutionized the way that people organize and access data on the iOS and macOS, and we're only getting started! This is a high visibility, high impact position! We implement our own custom index and database, and client frameworks and processes on iOS and macOS. Spotlight is constantly evolving as we continue to improve the user experience, and provide services for other teams to build on.

Key Qualifications

  • Strong programming skills, preferably with Objective-C, C, C++, as well as iOS or macOS industry experience
  • Solid understanding of threading and locking, and low level memory management, as well as experience working on threaded systems.
  • Comfortable with large code bases, fast-paced environments, and tight schedules
  • Experience implementing databases, indexes, file systems, or similar low level systems.


As an engineer on our team, you will participate in new feature design, implement new features, fix bugs and customer reported issues, and improve and refactor existing code. Ideally, we want someone that has excellent communication skills, and a proven understanding of algorithm and data structure analysis and design. Could this be you?
