Times Record News is seeking a passionate journalist to grow the newspapers audience and serve the community through accurate and interesting coverage of local topics.
A successful candidate will be a leader in coverage of the city of Wichita Falls, Wichita County and Sheppard Air Force Base.
The journalist will have an emphasis on city polices, economic development and transparency in the government.
The Times Record News team works together to cover areas of public interest including breaking news, watchdog reporting, crime, arts and entertainment and other features.
A good candidate will be adaptable and be able to write accurate, concise content of events as well as have story-telling flare for feature stories.
Times Record News is a daily print and online newspaper in Wichita Falls, Texas, in the Northwest part of the state. Wichita Falls has a population of about 120,000 and we also serve several surrounding cities.
Strong reporting and writing skills are preferred with a minimum of one-year experience in a newsroom environment.
Ability to take photographs and shoot and edit video preferred.
*Due to COVID, editorial staff is working remotely for the foreseeable future. A candidate would be supplied with a company laptop, but needs access to WiFi connection and a cell phone.
