The Verona Area School District is looking for an exceptional and resourceful leader to serve as our Assistant Superintendent for Business Services. The Verona Area School District is a PreK – 12 public school district of approximately 5,800 students located near Madison, WI. The Verona Area School District (VASD) is a growing school district with 10 schools including three charter schools and a two-way immersion Spanish program. Our incredible student body is 37% non-white, 29% receive free or reduced lunches, 14% percentage are English Learners and 8% receive special education services. Our staff is 900 strong between all positions including full and part time.

Our school district is comprised of 10 buildings including a new state of the art, 600,000 square foot high school on a 160-acre campus opened in September of 2020. We have a total of 1.5M square feet under roof on nearly 325 total acres.

Our new Assistant Superintendent for Business Services will oversee:

  • Director of Buildings & Grounds
  • Director of Food Services
  • Director of Human Resources
  • Director of Safety and Security
  • Director of Natatorium and Aquatics Centers
  • Finance Manager
  • Managers of Performing Arts Centers
  • Operations Manager
  • Administrative Assistant

This position provides leadership, assistance, and support to business and operational staff; serves as Chief Financial Officer for the district; serves as Chief Operating Officer for non-instructional operations; and supervises and/or manages all financial / non-instructional operational matters of the District.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated skills in all human relations skills and be able to roll their sleeves up when needed. This is high touch, high impact, highly visible position.
