USA TODAYs Audience team seeks an evening manager to direct coverage across social, mobile and digital platforms and provide continuity from day-to-night teams. The editor will work with section editors and content leaders across the newsroom on coverage needs and coordinate work within the Audience team. The candidate must demonstrate strong news judgment and have prior digital news experience. Prior supervisory experience is preferred but not required. S/he will specialize in finding a wide audience for USA TODAYs stories, photos, videos, graphics and other content, and optimizing them for different social/digital platforms.
The editor will also work on mobile and desktop programming and will write daily and will do additional content creation as news and needs warrant. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of audience metrics and engagement tactics. This role will include night and weekend work. Experience working with social media for a daily news organization
