If Yes, we may have the job for you. Wireless Technologies and Ecosystems Group is seeking an experienced Wireless Systems Engineer. As part of this world class team, you will help commercialize cutting edge Wireless Technologies in Apple products. The position demands expertise in Wireless Systems with an emphasis on Cellular systems and requires close collaboration with cross functional hardware and software teams.
Key Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience designing and/or developing algorithms for Wireless systems
- Solid grasp of complex wireless systems with a strong capability to comprehend dependencies between system components and protocol layers and their interactions
- Experience in modeling and simulation of RF/PHY layer signals and channel modeling all the way to MAC protocol/networking simulations; corresponding proficiency with Matlab/NS3/C/C++ required
- Experience with mmWave systems strongly desired
- Knowledge of Cellular Wireless standards (5G-NR, LTE, 3G)
- Wireless System Performance debugging experience. Excellent analytical skills
- Adept at handling and processing large amounts of test data, including user-friendly visualization of field/lab data analysis
- Python or Perl scripting experience is a plus
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
Description
We are looking for an extremely motivated and data driven Wireless Systems Engineer to design novel solutions for next generation of Apple products Position requires an ability to relate how a system design/optimization choice would impact user experience and keeping that at the forefront of any decisions. Responsibilities would include but not limited to : Developing baseband algorithms and features to improve user experience for next generation of Apple Products Analyzing Wireless (mmWave/non-mmWave) System Performance issues and chipset/FW/SW defects, and improve performance of our best in class products Architecting novel solutions to optimize mmWave System Performance Modeling and design of simulation techniques to demonstrate the impacts of channel impairments and associated mitigation techniques to improve system performance Identifying ways to improve vendor solution. Working with cross functional teams to gather the necessary data to validate any hypothesis Collaborating with and driving cross functional teams and chipset vendors in order to achieve best in class wireless experience on Apple products
Education & Experience
Masters degree or PhD (preferred) in EE or equivalent
