Description

Mt. Cuba Center is seeking an experienced human resources professional to help us further our mission. This is a generalist position with a focus on recruitment. This individual will support all areas of human resources including attracting, identifying, and welcoming highly qualified talent aligned with our core values of mission above self, collaboration, remarkable experiences, respect for the individual, curiosity and creative license, and responsible stewardship. The successful candidate will be a strong team player and a collaborative partner who seeks to influence our organization’s diversity and inclusion and positively impact our community.

Responsibilities

Recruitment
Act as point person for the recruitment process for open positions. This includes creating job requisitions, advertising and networking to source diverse candidate pools; assisting in the screening and selection process by evaluating candidate qualifications, participating in interviews and extending job offers; recommending recruitment protocols and policies; and training and supporting the management team in the hiring process. Delivers an exceptional staff and applicant experience, providing accurate, thorough and responsive guest service.

Screening, Onboarding and Orientation
Conduct new hire screenings and administer the onboarding / offboarding and orientation processes including conducting orientation and employee handbook training; make recommendations on best practice process improvements and content

Administrative & Department Support
Complete administrative support duties for the HR function including performance appraisal process assistance, compliance reporting, HRIS and payroll maintenance, audits, filing workers compensation claims, employment verifications, benefits administration, compiling HR analytics, assisting with the payroll function, responding to questions from applicants and staff about policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc., and maintaining employee and HR files.



Requirements

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications or related field with 2 years of experience in a human resources role. Must have knowledge of recruiting best practices, HRIS, and payroll systems, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to learn and adapt to various software and technology, and the ability to manage confidential information and sensitive situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy. Bilingual and experience using the ADP Talent tool preferred. The successful candidate will have exceptional interpersonal skills and a guest service approach with the ability to effectively communicate with staff at all levels and our external communities; be a strong team player with initiative and the ability to multi-task to work effectively in a fast-paced environment; be self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently with strong time management skills; and have exceptional attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
