Salary: Full range for this position is $25.82. to $28.29 with an expected initial hiring range
of $25.82 to $27.18, depending on qualifications.
Hours: M-F, 6:30 am – 2:30 pm, overtime required
Responds to emergency calls during and after normal business hours.
Available for On-Call Rotation for after-hour emergencies and weekend station checks.
This position performs work related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of public water distribution systems for commercial, residential, and public properties. The Water Service Technician not only operates heavy machinery but performs a full range of complex tasks and works within established procedures and/or policies. At this level, the incumbent serves as a secondary Drinking Water License Operator and works with occasional instruction or assistance. Work involves frequent interpretation of policies, procedures, and guidelines, and may involve the development of recommendations consistent with directives, policies, and regulations.
Qualifications - Applicants must meet the following to be considered qualified for this position:

High School Equivalency

3+ years of experience in the water, wastewater, or construction industry, preferably in the public sector working with local government, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Required/Preferred Licensing/Certification * :

Possession of a valid 2B Hoisting License (required)

Possession of a valid Class B CDL (required)

Possession of Drinking Water Distribution License (preferred)
-
Possession of Drinking Water Treatment License (preferred)
*Drinking Water Distribution and Water Treatment licenses must be obtained within one year of hire in order to be eligible for step increases under Collective Bargaining agreement at one year anniversary.
