Job Description

Pavilion Support Project Manager


Pavilion Support's mission is to support and maintain the install base of advanced analytics solutions at their optimal conditions so that these systems continue generating value for our customers by improving product quality, production capacity and energy usage. Our solutions have been installed for a variety of process industry customers, such as Polymer, Food and Beverage, Cement, Mining, etc.  Our solutions are maintained by team of support engineers with a unique blend of plant experiences, control, process, and systems engineering.

The Project Manager will manage the support projects for the North American Customers. PM will be responsible for quoting, managing project booking and invoicing, keeping cost within estimated range, and acts as a liaison between the support engineer and customer for items need special attention; PM will participate in periodical project review with Company Finance to present the project status and identify any potential issues and risks.

The PM will maintain the current support customer database and generate alerts prior to the support expiration date to sales executives to initiate renewal.

The PM will also work closely with Support engineers to identify any out-of-scope tasks and work out change orders with the customer.


  • Work with Sales Executives and/or Support Engineers to generate quotes and proposals for support opportunities and changes orders.
  • Prepare Rockwell PWO (project economic spreadsheet) forms to match approved scope documents from engineering estimates, risk analyses, current cost rates and pricing policies.
  • Maintain customer database and alert Sales executive for support renewals before support term expirations.
  • Attach price worksheets to the proposal management software for corresponding opportunities upon completion of scope, estimation, and pricing process.
  • Timely invoice periodical milestones, and Time and Materials works as well as fixed price periodic invoices.
  • Lead project hand-over meeting at Install project completion. Identical punch-list items and potential customer needs.
  • Lead new Support projects' kick-off meetings.
  • Keep track of the support activities, task progress, and project costs. Be the liaison between Support Engineer, customer, and or Sales Executives for items needing extra attentions.
  • Maintain customer database and alert Sales executive for support renewals before support term expirations.
  • Maintain high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Achieve as-sold margins of assigned project portfolio.
  • Familiarity with various aspects of solutions (familiarization with the various processes, general understanding of usual system relevant to our system such as PLC, DCS, HMI, instrumentation, networking, communication, etc.).
  • Proficiency with Project Management functions such as customer interface, project budget maintenance, project schedule maintenance and project resource planning.


  • Coordinate work with team engineers for improved efficiency.
  • Work with Other departments, such as Project Admin, Sales, to maintain accurate and efficient project booking.
  • Commercial project achievement and leadership in a controls engineering and automation related business.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and work within a technical team environment, and managing a geographically dispersed engineering and project delivery organization and making effective use of collaboration tools and remote management skill.
  • Manages efficient execution of portfolio of diverse projects within margin targets.
  • Manages and reports all financial aspects of assigned projects.


  • Able to work with customers for business development and implementation strategies
  • Excellent collaborative skills and ability to effectively work in a team setting
  • May apply complex and advanced project management and scheduling techniques


  • Ownership of administrative project activities (scope/risk, cost and schedule management, setup / upkeep / forecast / closure of projects in project information management systems, initiation of invoices, etc.).
  • Use company standard templates for all customer directed communication and/or tracking instruments.
  • Ownership of delivering projects within margin forecast, including development and execution of change orders as required.
  • Ownership of monthly financial and/or management reviews of projects including review of reported data, cost performance against plan, any performance guaranty status, etc.
  • Strong understanding of financial aspects of project management, percentage completion, revenue recognition, and project accounting.
  • Personal commitment to excellence in every aspect of the business with an uncompromising stance on ethics and transparency, internally and externally.
  • May participate in development of business team strategic plan.


  • Minimum: Bachelor of Science degree in Business or Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years' engineering services management experience in a consulting role.
  • Familiar with MS Project
  • Willing to obtain PMP certification within 1 year.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.


  • Consultative engineering services sales experience.
  • Analytics and model predictive control experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Typically possesses industry, application, or technology knowledge relevant to assigned business or geography.
  • Continuous manufacturing experience in a plant environment.
