As a Supervisory Program Specialist, your duties will include the following:
- Supervising a group of employees performing work at the GS-15/FS-1 level and below, including providing administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the unit. Performing the administrative and human resource management functions relative to the staff supervised including observing and evaluating the work and ensuring furthering the goals of equal employment opportunity (EEO).
- Directing all aspects of the management of the operating unit including developing policies, determining key priorities and establishing goals and objectives
- Leading efforts to address critical interdisciplinary issues and emerging priorities and technical policy development and engagement with the U.S. Congress, the interagency, and a broad range of stakeholders.
- Championing strategic distribution, allocation, and utilization of resources in the Agency, particularly where there are earmarks or directives from Congress
- Providing insights and evidence to improve programming, innovation, building and synthesizing evidence across multiple countries, regions, sectors, and programs
- Leads intra- and interagency policy and programming for local, faith, and transformative partners via regular meetings, roundtables, and high-level events to discuss shared priorities and catalyze further collaboration.

GS-15 ; You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; we consider part-time work on a prorated basis. Examples of qualifying specialized experience at the next lower level for this position includes: (a) experience supervising and/or leading teams and/or working groups in an organization whose primary focus is furthering the goals and objectives of local, faith-based and transformative partnerships; (b) contributes to policy development and design, and steering resource allocation; and (c) provides guidance, best practices and convenes communities of practice that articulate programmatic successes and challenges across geographic sectors.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, relevant to the duties of the position to be filled, including volunteer experience.
