The Project Manager - OEMs' is responsible for managing projects and programs that help Global Machine & Equipment Builders with adoption of Rockwell Automation's products & services. Project Manager is responsible for understanding and managing expectations of internal & external stakeholders to achieve project success and strengthen Rockwell's partnership with Machine & Equipment Builders.
The OEM Project Manager will demonstrate exceptional knowledge of applications and market trends in target industries, have measurable project management skills, have a working knowledge of Rockwell Automation products as they are applied in industry including machine and process design experience while maintaining exceptional professional standards of integrity, efficiency, and competency for the purpose of growing Rockwell Automations OEM market share in chosen industries.
Essential Functions:
- Manage all aspects of the project from Engagement, Planning, Execution, Monitoring and Controlling to Closing.
- Strong communication skills. Written/Oral/Presentation.
- Ability to work and collaborate with individuals at various levels within an organization in a fast paced team environment.
- Ability to influence members not under direct control.
- Identification & mitigation of commercial & technical risks.
- Lead & coach remote and diverse Global Teams.
- Efficiently manage and coordinate activities of GOTCs (Global OEM Technical Consultants), district technical consultants, service & support engineers and customers' engineers to achieve defined project objectives.
- Understand machine design, machine control and be able to coordinate control architecture from component level of products to architecture level of products.
- Application of Globally accepted Project Management processes.
Min. Qualification:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience. A minimum of 7 years related experience with recognized expertise in: project management, machine control design and machine control applications.
This position requires a good understanding of the Rockwell Automation organization from distribution and sales, to the product & services businesses. Strong industry and application knowledge and demonstrated project management skills are required.
The successful candidate must have proven commercial awareness and understanding about interfacing with OEM customers. Position does require travel. Actual travel will depend on business conditions and project activity loading.
Desired Qualifications:
Project Management experience in a technical role. Advanced knowledge of Rockwell Automation core products: PAC, Motion Control, Drives, Operator Interface, Communications, I/O, presence sensing and software. Controls, Process design or Mechanical Engineering experience on OEM equipment is desired. Solution design experience from conception to commissioning.
Software Industry Experience
Demonstrated commercial experience and aptitude working directly with OEM Customers, RA OEM Team, RA Sales Team & RA Distribution Team.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) highly desirable. Formal training in Project Management highly desirable.
